ABOUT SUZANNE

Statement of Qualifications;

 

Suzanne Sabin specializes in interdisciplinary communications, policy and regulatory analysis and development, project planning and management, and advisory support for organizations seeking guidance for ESG achievement and positive social change. She offers technical, legal, and policy expertise particularly relating to climate change and mitigation, cross-sectoral decarbonization, renewable energy and market structures, environmental justice, environment-related public health concerns, and coastal resilience. 

Suzanne earned her Master’s in Environmental Management with concentration in Environmental Economics and Policy, and a certificate in Climate Change Science and Applications from Duke University. She received her B.A. in English with Environmental Studies from Wake Forest University.

 

Expertise Includes Diverse Offerings in Environmental and Clean Energy Policy:

  • Preparing written communications and presentations on technical, legal, and policy issues

  • Analyzing laws, regulations, and policies to develop strategies and facilitate climate change mitigation, resilience, and society’s clean transition

  • Performing data analysis, modeling, interpretation around environmental enhancement, climate change mitigation and resilience, and socioeconomic policy impacts

  • Managing diverse projects and monitoring progress and performance

  • Serving as a liaison between policymakers, scientists, industry/business, environmental groups, and the general public

Current and past projects include:

  • Producing regular clean energy and environmental content and facilitate stakeholder collaboration for environmental organizations, clean energy finance companies, clean energy business groups, and others

  • Developing and presenting university lectures and webinars around environment and energy legislation and policy, greenhouse gas emissions inventories, etc.

  • Research, data preparation, and analysis surrounding energy markets, policy, decarbonization, and clean energy progress in the Southeastern U.S.

  • Managing a project team producing a study and catalogue of local climate resilience and adaptation policies in coastal NC, as well as guidance for future best practices

  • Modeling clean energy scenarios and economic, sectoral, and air quality implications under Governor Cooper's Executive Order 80

  • Work with an environmental organization on regulatory improvements and public environmental education in NC

  • Work with a government agency to improve program efficacy around environmental justice and public health concerns
